FUELING THE FUTURE
ENABLING DOMESTIC HALEU PRODUCTION
Driven by AI and data centers, electricity consumption is projected to increase exponentially in the coming years. This is putting unprecedented pressure on the energy grid and current infrastructure is not keeping pace.
Advanced and small modular reactors (SMRs) are essential to meeting this demand. But they cannot operate without the right fuel: High-Assay Low-Enriched Uranium (HALEU).
That’s where Nusano comes in.
next-gen fuel for next-gen energy
Goldman Sachs Research projects global power demand from data centers could increase by as much as 165% by 2030. This will place unprecedented pressure on the energy grid, and current solutions are not keeping up.
New energy supplies from advanced and small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs) are crucial to meeting this demand. However, these reactors require a specific type of fuel: High-Assay Low-Enriched Uranium (HALEU).
The United States Department of Energy estimates that by 2030, the country will need 40 metric tons of HALEU annually to support a commercial nuclear power industry in the U.S., increasing to 500 metric tons per year by 2050. Yet, current production methods are generating less than 1% of that supply.
Nusano’s HALEU enrichment platform is far more efficient than traditional methods. A single Nusano system will be able to produce 5.9 metric tons of HALEU annually — at a fraction of the cost of other proposed production methods. Modular and scalable, additional systems can be added over time to align fuel production with industry needs.
Nusano technology:

Utilizes a proprietary process capable of quick, cost-effective HALEU production and scale up

Reduces environmental hazards by eliminating need for uranium hexafluoride

Decreases dependence on foreign supply chains to support American energy independence
